Bodhi means pure intelligence in Sanskrit; it’s the bliss of Nirvana, the state of enlightenment sought by all who practice Buddhism. Infinitely easier to attain is our Bodhi sculpture. It's a stylized sculpture in the lotus position, the traditional Buddhist meditation pose. The slender figure with long, exaggerated limbs is an example of expert sand-casting: the labor-intensive process of casting molten metal (aluminum, in this case) into an intricate mold formed in sand. Finished in antique bronze, this modern piece evokes a sense of serenity and calm.
